The Eco Village features a district heating system, recycled cooking oil ,

heat recovery ventilation, on-site renewables,

optimized site ventilation,

improved pedestrian comfort and enhanced indoor air quality

James Wines (born 1932) is an American artist and architect associated with environmental design. Wines is founder and president of SITE,a New York City -based architecture and environmental arts organization chartered in 1970. This multi-disciplinary practice focuses on the design of buildings, public spaces, environmental art works, landscape designs, master plans, interiors and product design. Aquatorium :

 

 the exhibition strategy is a series of lateral information walls that carry water-based information from inside to outside.  In addition to these specialized display environments, the building also provides a selection of grand spaces for conferences, an I-Max theater, study center, library, administrative offices, restaurants specializing in aquaculture cuisine, and a health center for water-oriented therapies.

 

 

 

 

 

Casa Fabiani : 

 

Piemonte, Italy (2000) 

 

The villa is situated on the crest of a mountain, overlooking Lake Maggiore and the Swiss Alps. The orientation of the plan is intended to take advantage of east and southeast panoramic views. This two thousand square meter villa is designed in response to the client's vision for a place full of air and light - a house that seems perched for flight on the edge of the hillside. For this reason, the roof is composed of a series of undulating, wing-like structures that emerge from the ground surface (partially covered with landscape) and then fan outward over the mountain precipice. While the client wants his residence to include the most advanced structural, environmental, and digital technology, he also sees it as totally integrated with the surrounding environment - including regional building materials and typical vegetation. Functionally, the the villa includes very large social areas, an indoor swimming pool, sweeping deck space, guest rooms, a small apartment, a state-of-the-art computer office, and ample gues
